Montage-a-Google

Probably one of the coolest apps I’ve seen! Totally fun and I can see using it for various reasons! It grabs images off of Google and plops it into this montage for you.

Here’s an example with “WorshipCity.”

I’m watching You!

The Statue of Liberty and Foam Fingers do NOT mix.

The Lady Liberty

I love Mario Bros. as much as the next geek growing up in the 90s but where do you find a Koopa to dangle from your rear view mirror that big?!?!

The Big Koopa

No comment…I know Aaron’s going to bust me for even putting this up.

Get LOST Tonight – Get Caught Up NOW

Less than 12 hours until LOST is back with Season 4!! I am giddy like a school girl! It’s gonna be rad! If you’ve for some reason decided to not get into this incredible show it’ll be really simple. Grab a Snickers bar and a soda pop and sit down for 8 minutes and 15 seconds and watch the following video. IF you’re already hooked watch it anyway. It’s HILARIOUS for those of us who are addicted to the show. The summarization of the craziest most confusing show I’ve watched in 8 minutes is preposterous but they’ve somehow done it in a clear, concise, and deadpan humorous way. My favorite line: “Mr. Friendly throws like a girl.”

Enjoy:

The 1st Spanking

Oh my, where have the 2 years gone? 2 years ago all she could do was look adorable in my arms and sleep and coo. For those of you who haven’t crossed this road this is how it goes down, a day, moment, experience I doubt I’ll ever forget:

  • You’ll already have a bad/stressful day that day
  • She’ll be in an excitable mood, not good/not bad but more electric than usual per say
  • Bath time comes and you can see peace and quiet coming soon but it’s still so far away
  • It’ll be a simple task like: simply standing up so you can dry her off
  • She will refuse and think it hilarious
  • You’ll do everything you’ve done before to no avail
  • You loose patience – HOPEFULLY you’ll remember love and wisdom and not lash out in a fit of impatience and aggravation (thank you God for my Wednesday afternoon small group! Those words were fresh in my mind and kept my cool!)
  • You’ll warn her she’ll get a spanking
  • She’ll laugh
  • You’ll look to your wife for support
  • You’ll warn her again
  • She’ll laugh again
  • You pop her on her butt in a moment so quickly you surprise yourself
  • The Earth will stop its rotation, the air instantly becomes static, your house will stand still and not creak, ache, or groan, your heart hiccups, your first gray hair pops out, somewhere a fairy looses it’s wings
  • CRYING, WAILING, AND GNASHING OF TEETH ensue clutching to Mommy and unable to even shift her gaze in your general direction!
  • Your wife will smile with approval and smirk because it was you not her :)
  • You’ll take your daughter back and hug her and tell her you still love her but she’ll go right back to Mommy
  • You’ve delivered your first (could it be the last?!?!) spanking

My little princess is growing up.

Apple iPhone Headache

My first real hiccup with my iPhone. The only reason I’m putting this out here is because maybe you’ve encountered the same thing? I don’t have time to get to the AT&T store right now and some of you are some real Apple-ophiles so here it is:

  • It’s basically “frozen”
  • The display stays lit and will not turn off however the “slide to unlock” is not glittering and lighting up
  • Pushing the “Sleep” button will sometimes cause the “slide to unlock” to light up and allow me to unlock the phone however once at the main menu page everything is locked and frozen.

Anyone?

3:10 to Yuma Discussion

10 to Yuma

Well I had a ton of fun with our Cloverfield discussion and I know I’m a bit behind the craze surrounding Yuma but it still must be strong b/c Blockbuster is almost constantly out of stock of this movie! So here we go:

I must say that my initial expectations were pretty high. I had read a lot already how this movie as well as some other incredible Westerns made last year have really breathed new life into the genre. Plus, have you seen the cast!?!?! Russell Crowe, Christian Bale, Ben Foster, Peter Fonda, Alan Tudyk, Luke Wilson (snicker..heehee) and the stunning Gretchen Mol and Vinessa Shaw. So needless to say THERE WAS SOME HYPE! But I remained calm because I am far too often let down. No hype means no let down if it’s a stinker. Regardless, I loved this movie! It had so much going for it. Yes, it was a remake of an already great movie (apparently, I don’t know actually b/c I never saw it) but Russell Crowe and Christian Bale were incredible!

I think I was so intrigued by the little twist on the typical good guy/bad guy scenario. We have here Crowe’s Ben Wade character, the meanest, rottenest, nastiest SOB of the West and which Crowe is amazing at as well! I mean it’s that bad guy that’s so terribly bad you really like him! But he’s not matched with this shining glowing American hero dressed in white, he’s matched more by someone’s who’s integrity perhaps is in such stark contrast but not his heroism. I mean let’s face it, Bale’s Dan Evans is pretty much a joke, a lame duck if you will in his community. But it’s the working man trying to do right by his family that’s so noble and admirable that in the end, Ben Wade even respects him. I absolutely loved it!

I did have to suspend my belief though a couple of times:

  1. Ben Wade’s capture – I mean jeez was he trying to get caught? We ultimately find out he’s been there and escaped 2x already but come on, that’s all it takes to catch this guy?
  2. The shoot out – I think that’s all I can say. I mean wow. I don’t think I’ve seen such a wild shoot out since Young Guns! I was really wanting some Bon Jovi blasting in the back ground :)

So what’d you think?

5 Things Better Than Mon Jan. 28

5. Guest Drummer Brother – Most people struggle to find that one mystery of the universe: a GREAT drummer! For some reason the stars align for me. My best friend is hand’s down the best drummer I know, I’ve got a good friend who just moved to Austin who’s an incredibly diverse drummer, AND my brother-in-law is one of the most talented drummers I know. I used to have to say “for someone his age” but that no longer applies.
So this weekend he came and crashed at our place and played with us this Sunday. We also made a great decision together:

4. Bushmills - Fine Irish Whiskey. Smooth, clean, and a bit sweet. Stinkin’ Irish.

3. Finding Nemo – One of the best movies of all time! Fun for everyone who decides to watch it, beautifully done, great score, hilarious, clean, it’s just fabulous.

2. Krewe of Mutts Parade – Yeah, you guessed it: a parade for your dog! It’s actually awesome. No drunken debaucheries and I choose catching Fido taking a number 2 in the grass than some drunk guy peeing on my truck any day!

1. 4D Ultrasound of my baby boy! – Technology is cool but life is the coolest! This is both of those things. Pics coming soon!!! Now if we can just decide on a name!

Worship Pre-textfessional Jan 27th

I’ve got to get better at these. They’re so much fun, I keep wanting to do more but don’t get around to it and therefore never do anything. That’ll stop soon:

  • Oh, for a 1,000 Tongues to Sing – G – Crowderesque
  • Forever - A – Tomlinesque
  • All Creatures 2 – D – Crowderesque from Illuminate
  • Lead Me to the Cross – A – Hillsong United
  • Post communion – Holy is the Lord – G or A (haven’t decided yet) – Tomlin

On paper, I’m much more ashamed of my choices. I should probably do this way out in the beginning of the week. I might choose differently.
