How do you end a crazy summer of camps and full time youth ministry?
Dump the kiddos at the in-laws and roll out to Houston with the wife to catch John Mayer live in the Woodlands! I’m super stoked! Many of you know of my recent “infatuation” with John Mayer. It’s only recently been fueled by the new live double disc CD/DVD!
So, who’s coming?
We’re thinking we’ll drop in to Robbie Seay’s church, Ecclesia. Anyone going to be there? I’m always excited about the opportunity to meet ya’ll face to face. The opportunity to catch Chris or Robbie Seay live has me giddy like a school boy 
…unless some of ya’ll visit the Joel Osteen show and want to meet up there. Heeheehee. Sorry, I couldn’t resist.
I nabbed some pics of my gear at camp this past week. It’s something that’s been long overdue. I can’t believe I forgot to take a picture of my acoustic

The Ibanez Chorus/Phaser was a new toy this past week that I only had a day or two to fool around with. Upon initially getting to camp and setting up, all my amp would do would emit an awful whirring sound that replicated itself over and over again. I basically had to take everything out of the signal chain after the Tube Screamer (which you’ll see is all the time based effects.) It wasn’t until sometime Tuesday that I had time to tinker. I’m still not sure what caused it. I did substitute one cable for another. I haven’t had time if it was a bad patch cable or just something that came loose in the 6 hour drive up to camp. Either way, the Phaser didn’t get any love until Thursday. I used it for 1 song and it was a quirky one about Penguins I hope to get into it a bit more.
I HATE the Strobostomp, however after a week of being forced to use it I’m down from UTTER HATRED. It’s tough to tune on the go with as well as if your guitar is just plain wicked out of tune and you need to quickly find where you’re at. I think a PEWaves tuner is in my near forecast.
Camp season is finished and I’m baaack! There is so much to tell from this week so I hope I don’t bombard you with camp stories and videos and pictures and excitement and yeah see I’m already doing it
There’s a long overdue Dark Knight review. I did see it on the Thursday night midnight premiere and it was WICKED!
But camp was just so incredible! I did worship again with my brother-in-law on drums, a student of mine on bass, and an old friend of mine on vocals, keys, guitar, harmonica, etc. If you think you have the stones to pull off Crowder’s Can You Feel It? without a laptop and/or tracks/loops/etc. then let me know…then I’ll show you our video! HAHAHA! Insane scratches the surface of last week. And it lasted for 5 days!!!
So, after Youth tonight I’ll begin to catch up for time away from the computer last week.

Sorry gang, no internet at camp but it’s AWE-SOME! You’ll be bombarded when I get back! Yeah I know, I was just at camp. Now I’m leading worship at a Middle School camp. Redic! It’s amazing. God’s amazing. My family is amazing. My daughter’s a rock star! Be back soon…
I knew this was coming but…my seat is wet…I just peed my pants…August 19th can’t get here quick enough!

it is 3:35 AM and I don’t know how I’m getting to bed. The Dark Knight was insane! It was a bit long but they backed A TON into this film! This movie is so much more than an action comic book movie adaptation. Seriously, if it’s not recognized for it’s acting and cinematography then it’s just a shame.
Unfortunately/fortunately (depending on how you look at it) the villians stole the show! I will say again, it is truly a shame to have lost such a gifted actor as Heath Ledger. Truly a shame. So much to process. So much to say but I can’t. You need to see this movie for yourself and I need to get to sleep.
Superman?!?!
It’s time folks! I’ve been trying to calm myself down all day about what’s been the most anticipated release this year for me! It hasn’t worked. I went to pick up 4 tickets today and they had a reported interviewing people coming to get tickets (watch at 5:00 I might be there!) 3 out of the 6 auditoriums at the Rave were sold out. It is the Dark Knight’s NIGHT!
I know my good friend will be at an iMax at midnight. Before I sat down to write out my enthusiasm I went over to check out his blog. Its funny because I had just taken a picture of my ticket to use and I see he beat me to the punch! Hahaha. Oh well. Great minds think alike.
Celebrate the hype tomorrow! Make sure you turn my Twitter alerts off if you don’t want to be bombarded this evening/tomorrow morning!
I also have a guilty pleasure found in Staind. Aaron Lewis’ voice is too deep and rich for one man to carry such weight with his words. Epiphany gives me chills!
