Worship City is where I blog about what’s happening in my life. Since our worship is what our lives are pointing towards with what we say, do, spend money on, I hoped that in doing so I can truly see what’s valuable to me. 

My name’s Conner Byrd. I live in Baton Rouge, LA with my wife Rae. We’ve been together since 1997 and married since 2002. We have two incredible kids: Chloe’s 3 going on 13 and Gavin’s 8 months. We’ve got a black lab named Molly Moose, 2 white cats Sebastian and Keelo, and 2 fish without names. 

I work for River Community Church and am the full time Youth Director. I say full time because, even a church, people ask me: so this is cool but what do you do? It’s hilarious and sad! HA. Yes, it takes 40+ hours a week to pull off Sunday people

LOVES Apple, my iPhone, playing guitar, playing in a band, public speaking, Starbucks, Iced Venti Caramel Macchiatos, movies, Entertainment Weekly, Klipsch home audio, big sofas, laceless Chuck Taylors, Flip Flops, Louisiana’s 2 seasons, Oreos, Irish Whiskey, Kentucky Bourbon, TiVo, LSU Football, Nissan Automobiles, arcade games, pinball machines, and comfortable blue jeans.

DISLIKES Tequila, pickles, golf, lint in my belly button, and carnies.

I think life is found in my daughter’s laugh, my son’s jelly belly, my wife’s smile, my Mom’s brownies, my Dad’s rambling life lessons, my friend’s hugs, my family’s dinners, my church’s outreach, my student’s eyes, authentic music, the sunset, the moon as a sliver looking like a smile, my wife’s hand in mine, and in that unexplainable knowledge of the presence of Jesus in my life.

I get plenty of questions regarding my incredible banners and those are the work of the creative machine over at CEC Worship, Joel Klampert. He’s one of the first bloggers I really connected with here and has been a tremendous asset to this blogging community!
