My Holy Hangover

First off: Mad props to Shawn for the term Holy Hangover.
So what is a Holy Hangover? It’s what we in the ministry affectionately call that feeling we get on Monday Morning. Especially after a day like yesterday:

• 1:30 – going to bed b/c we are at the beach and get to sleep in tomorrow morning!
• 7:30 – Up and packing
• 8:30 – Breakfast
• 9 – Lead worship for last weekend retreat session
• 10:30 – Say goodbye and pack up
• 11:30 – Grab a bite to eat
• 12 – On the road!…with 2 kids..ugh….
• 4:10 – Backing trailer into the driveway…Orange Beach -> Baton Rouge in 4 hrs! BOOYAH!
• 4:15 – Pulling out of the driveway in Rae’s car
• 4:38 – Youth group! (8 mins late)
• 6:20 – Wrapping up Youth (20 mins late but was so worth it! Amazing youth tonight!)
• 6:30 – Changed and off to downtown
• 7 – Arrived at Whitney’s Celebration Service for 10 Years at First Pres.
• 8:10 – Hugging and goodbyes
• 9 – Eating lunch…dinner…um…whatever
• 9:30 – Check emails put on Psych! It was a Bollywood theme!
• 11 – Heading to bed. Probably one of the earliest in months…years?

And voila: Monday Morning’s Holy Hangover.

Wednesday Night EXTREMES!

Rae and I settle down each evening around 9ish after all the kiddos have gone to bed and the kitchen is cleaned up to watch our TiVo-ed television shows for the night. It occurred to me that Wednesday night television might be my most favorite! We go from watching Project Runway together to The Ultimate Fighter! 

We go from fashion and design, frills and fabric to submissions and knock outs, blood and sweat! HAHA. I love it! 

This got me thinking, what are your TV watching habits like? I twittered about Fringe yesterday and it got some interest so I thought I’d share my Tivo Season Pass with you: 

Monday: The Hills, Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles (please keep on the air!) 

Tuesday: Fringe. The Mentalist made the cut this week. I think I’m adding it to the list.

Wednesday: Project Runway & The Ultimate Fighter. Sons of Anarchy have tonight to convince me to keep them or delete them.

Thursday: The Office! It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (yes Ali you’ve got me on it) and maybe The Office again 🙂

Friday: Psych 

And every day there’s a new episode of either Little Einstein’s, Curious George, Charlie & Lola, Word Girl, or Super Why for Chloe 🙂

I just realized how frightening this is because sure enough one of you are going to come around and analyze me based on my television watching! Haha.

I long for the old school Nyquil

• Puffy eyes
• Running nose
• Dry throat
• Post nasal drip
• Sinus pressure
• Brittle face

I’m sick. I feel tired and lethargic. I took some time earlier to rummage through some of your great posts but this is all I’ve got here. The wife picked up Blood Diamond, there’s a new episode of Psych coming on tonight, I picked up some new music today, so we’ll be back soon.

5 Things Better Than Mon Dec. 17th

5. Psych return to TV! – It’s all about chemistry and fun! I love this show and am so glad it made it’s little preview. All new episodes start in January.

4. Christmas Parties – They’re in full swing! 1 last weekend, 2 with the youth this weekend, 1 tonight, and family is coming around the corner!

3. Colbie Calliat’s Mistletoe – Sweet sultry voice like an angel and a brooding wonderful Christmas tune that drips like honey!
2. Buying Christmas presents online! – The 1st time I get out, this past Sat, and run into 4 nincompoops! 2 I nearly plowed over in my truck and 2 I witnessed nearly plowing into other poor unsuspecting holiday shoppers.

1. The Big Surprise I’m Working on for my Wife for Christmas – because of which I probably won’t get another post off today 🙂
