Yesterday was our first River KidStuf of the Fall so our normal services are condensed! A typical Sunday has 2 services each 1hr 15 minutes starting at 9 and 10:45. On RKS days however our first service starts at 9 and only runs an hour and then we have a 15 minute break and throw down our River KidStuf for a half hour and then 15 minutes later our second service starts at 11 and runs to 12. CA-RAZY morning but it’s so worth it!!
Here is what happened with the songs for our adult services:
- All Creatures of Our God and King 2-ish
- O Love That Will Not Let Me Go
- Mighty to Save
- The Wonderful Cross
This morning was pretty good. It was an odd mix of familiar songs that I love to do, however done with a different style and feel and key and a new unfamiliar song with a different style and feel and verbage. I’m still having a time sinking in to this “Indelible Grace” and/or “RUF” stuff that we’re doing. It’s so totally foreign to me. Very folksy, no bridges, sometimes no choruses, very hymnlike, and very old English grammar-eth. So we’re definitely in a transition here at River into uncharted waters for me. It’s so good that I’m no longer leading worship because I would not be able to lead us here.
I’m able to get my personal style preferences out in the Youth services that we’re doing now about once a month and River KidStuf 🙂
Otherwise, a crazy bonkers morning was a pretty good one. I was pretty exhausted and tired from having the kids all weekend long and starting to really get sick. So the actual morning adult worship was a bit of a blur.
