Watchmen Controversy

watchmen

The highly anticipated and now controversial Watchmen is in theaters! I’ve been incredibly stoked about it but life’s made this weekend terribly busy and I won’t be able to see it until next week. It appears people are split on either ends of the spectrum! Nobody’s indifferent, either this movie is absolute trash and filth or it’s the Titanic for comic geeks everywhere πŸ™‚

So, I’m just curious, not to discuss the actual movie itself but whether you:

  • Read the graphic novel and loved the movie
  • Read the graphic novel and hated the movie
  • This was was a graphic novel? and loved the movie
  • What’s a graphic novel? and hated the movie

Pretty indifferent too both. Not worth hating.

“Read the graphic novel and loved the movie”

I am a huge fan of both – I think the novel is a work of art, and the movie did a fantastic job of representing the source material. All of the changes made sense, and the acting, visuals, setting, etc were all spot on. Great!

Apparently, it’s rated R for graphic violence, language, sensuality, and a glowing blue penis.

Had never read the graphic novel and wasn’t particularly interested in watching the movie, was kind of coerced into going.

But i loved it! What an awesome movie. And, since i hadnt read the graphic novel, what an incredible concept. The conflicted superheroes… the awesomeness and tragedy of all.

thumbs up. this was a great and awesome movie. cant understand the sex and nudity controversy.
